  • BARNALI PAIK AT MICROSOFT SUMMIT

    Former Anudip student and iMerit Project Leader, Barnali Paik (second from right) attended the recently concluded YouthSpark summit meeting at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, USA. To Barnali’s right is Akhtar Badshah, Senior Director of Microsoft Community Affairs.

    The summit saw an attendance of 100+ representatives fromYouthSpark program partners from around the world. The event was energized by the presence of ten “young persons” including Barnali, invited by Microsoft from India, South Africa, USA, Vietnam, China, Canada, Romania, Egypt, Mexico, and UK. Also attending was a large number of Microsoft Community Affairs staff, with a view to carrying out the summit objective of “Deepening the Impact” of the 18-month-old YouthSpark program.

    Barnali, 24, who holds a M.A. degree from Rabindra Bharati University, comes from Karanjali, a small village in the Ganges delta region of eastern India. She joined the Anudip MAST program in 2010, and became one of iMerit’s first employees that year as a Data Center Operator. Since then she has progressed to her role as Project Leader at the company’s Baruipur center.

    In the picture below Barnali (right) addresses the audience on May 1 as part of the Employment Opportunities panel. With her on the panel (second from left), is iMerit CEO, Radha Basu. Later in the day, Anudip was represented on the Entrepreneurship panel by Dipak Basu, CEO of Anudip.

    Anudip’s DREAM for Women program is partially funded by YouthSpark.
