MAST graduates Md. Ali Gazi and Sarifa Khatun (husband and wife) started this small business in their village near Hasnabad, West Bengal.
Powerhouse was started by Debashis Koyal and Nilimesh Das as a desktop publishing enterprise in South Barasat, West Bengal. Debashis and Nilimesh are both graduates from Anudip’s Barasat MAST (Market Aligned Skills Training) center. After completing the IT courses and the soft-skill training, they opted to attend a special workshop on entrepreneurship development and decided to start their own business.
Sadhana Computer Centre is owned by Md. Hafijul Gazi, Snigdha Sarita Bera and Abhiram Bera, opening in early 2010. With the help of Anudip’s DREAM program the budding entrepreneurs identified an opportunity to start a reasonably priced local internet surfing facility. They decided to found Sadhana Computer Center to meet the growing demand.
Manabindu Saha is a graduate from Anudip's Diamond Harbor MAST Center. About the course, Manabindu says, "Before I enrolled in MAST I didn't have the confidence to face interviews for good jobs."
In December 2010, Anudip opened its second Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Center in Metiabruz. Anudip refers to its BPOs as MERIT Centers (Mass Employment through Rural IT) as they provide job opportunities for its trained graduates to work in an IT outsourcing center delivering IT project work to global customers.
Bapu Das (24) lives in Abavashikta, a community on the outskirts of Kolkata. There are four members in his family: Himself, his older brother, his sister and his father. Bapu’s father is a motor mechanic who makes Rs. 3,500 per month (about $70), and his mother passed away about 1 year ago. In September of 2010 Bapu joined Anudip’s MAST program at the KMK center south of Kolkata.
