Artificial Intelligence is a reality, and undoubtedly, will be an integral part of careers in the future. That’s exactly what the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi is about to address. Just like the advent of the computer, AI is here to stay. We thought that computers were here to take away our jobs, but today, more jobs rely on computers.
The same holds for AI. All we need is to adapt and embrace new technologies, and that’s why reskilling is important. Whether AI will widen the inequality or act as an equalizer, depends on the way we perceive it.
As per EY India, AI is about to bring 38 million jobs in India by 2030. This is a great indicator for productivity enhancement and workforce evolution. The numbers send a wake-up call, not job displacement. It provides a radical opportunity for the youth and women from marginalized communities who have been excluded from tech careers so far.
AI reskilling is here to transform lives by breaking the traditional barriers. It will, thus, help them claim their space in the AI economy. That’s exactly why Anudip Foundation is hosting an AI conference on January 20th, stressing the importance of AI reskilling. It’s a pre-summit event that will help you prepare for the India AI Impact Summit New Delhi in February.
India AI Impact Summit 2026: How AI Will Influence Industry
Before we dive into the AI conference details, here are some statistics by Earnest & Young that demonstrate AI’s impact on Business:
- Only 3% of Indian enterprises possess enough in-house talent with AI skills. So, that leaves a whopping 97% of businesses hitting a roadblock due to a talent shortage. That counts as an opportunity!
- While full automation is possible for 24% of tasks, AI can enhance 42% of tasks through human productivity across sectors. This means that businesses need professionals who have the required AI skills. This will help them cover the tasks otherwise done via traditional techniques.
- At the same time, Gen AI is all set to increase call centre productivity by 80% and software development productivity by 61%. As a result, this may open new opportunities for women and youth from marginalized communities if they have the right skills. Thus, stressing the need for reskilling.
Adding to that, there’s huge potential in sectors like financial services, the IT/ITeS Sector, and healthcare and retail.
Why AI Reskilling is Important?
With industries in India implementing AI in different verticals, it automatically risks displacing millions of entry-level jobs. Considering that India has a youth population of more than 650 million under the age of 25, AI reskilling is the need of the moment.
Reports indicate AI could impact 1.8 crore jobs by 2030, particularly in manufacturing (80 lakh) and retail (76 lakh), while only one in 5 young adults has participated in AI skilling programs, leaving 80% without formal training. This skills gap threatens employability, with youth from rural and marginalized communities three times less likely to have digital skills, exacerbating exclusion in a market where AI-related roles are growing at 15% CAGR.
However, experts highlight the positive shift with the possibility of agentic AI creating over 30 lakh new technology jobs by 2030. While the India Skills report highlights the boost in women’s employability as opposed to men, giving a ray of hope (54% vs 51.5% in 2026), women still make up only ~26% of India’s tech workforce. Thus, highlighting a massive scope for training women in tech.
Also, on the brighter side, initiatives training marginalized youth in AI have placed cohorts in tech sectors. This indicates how reskilling bridges divides and enables access to emerging opportunities, with a projected 1.25 million AI jobs by 2027.
