Role Overview
The Placement Manager / Senior Manager will be responsible for driving placement strategy, building strong employer partnerships, and ensuring high-quality job outcomes for candidates trained under the CoE. The role requires deep industry connect, strong execution capability, and experience in skilling or large-scale hiring ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Placement Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive placement strategy aligned with COE program objectives.
- Drive end-to-end placement lifecycle — employer outreach, job mapping, candidate profiling, interview coordination, offer closure, and onboarding support.
- Align trained candidates to industry requirements across AI, Data Science, Digital Economy, GCC, and Creative domains.
- Ensure achievement of placement, retention, and salary benchmarks.
- Build structured placement pipelines for each training batch.
- Employer Engagement & Industry Integration
- Drive end-to-end placement lifecycle for CoE-trained candidates
- Conduct employer roundtables, job fairs, campus drives, and virtual hiring events.
- Facilitate live projects, internships, apprenticeships, and industry immersion programs.
- Map emerging job roles in AI, ML, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, Customer Experience, UI/UX, and Creative Economy sectors.
- Capture employer feedback to continuously improve curriculum alignment.
- Stakeholder Management
- Act as a bridge between industry, training, and operations teams
- Work closely with CoE Center Heads for demand-supply alignment
- Represent the organization in industry forums and employer meetings
- Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance
- Track KPIs including placements, retention rates, salary levels, employer satisfaction, and diversity metrics.
- Maintain placement MIS, dashboards, and documentation as per IndiaAI & Skill India compliance requirements.
- Prepare periodic reports and presentations for internal leadership, government bodies, and CSR stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate documentation for audits and impact assessment.
- Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Lead and mentor the placement team, coordinators, and employer relationship managers.
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for placement operations.
- Conduct training sessions on interview readiness, soft skills, resume building, and workplace preparedness.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and performance excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Engineering / Management / Computer Science / Education / Data Science or related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in placement management, industry partnerships, or workforce development.
- Proven track record of achieving placement targets in skill development, higher education, or technology-led programs.
- Experience in AI, Data Science, Digital Economy, or emerging tech hiring preferred.
- Familiarity with government-funded or CSR-based projects (IndiaAI, Skill India, NSDC) will be an advantage.
